Our Mission
Morgan Creek Vineyards is an agri-tourist culinary destination that promotes through education and events, mutually beneficial relationships based on regionally produced food and wine.  Morgan Creek Vineyards, Minnesota’s only underground winery, is proud to be a designated Minnesota Green Route Destination and a member of the Minnesota Department of Agriculture Minnesota Grown Directory; Greater Mankato Growth Visitor's "2008  Hospitality Award; 2008 Explore Southern Minnesota Best Events recipient;  2010 Edible Twin Cities - Local Food Hero “Best Artisan Beverage”; ranked 2013 Farm to Table "Gourmand" by Southern Minnesota Scene Magazine; and honored as the official wines for the 2013 Annual Governor's Fishing Opener.

Managing Chefs
Deanna Fenske
Deanna's love for artisan foods and great cooking adventure is evident in her enthusiastic support of many local food and beverage entreprenuers. Currently working in a variety of venues, she is the baker and cook for New Ulm's Lola's Larkspur, a gourmet cafe with a full fine dinning menu; she manages and designs and cooks Morgan Creek Vineyards' gourment appetizer menu with monthly chef specials; and in her spare time she offers a variety of light catering services for private clientel. In addition to these creative endeavors, she has been one of the key collaborators in the effort to establish a Food Coop for the New Ulm Area. As past president of the New Ulm food Coop and Market, she helped coordinate the development of a new facility for this exciting market place concept.

Paula Marti
Paula is co-owner of Morgan Creek VIneyards, General Manager, and Executive Chef for the Winery's Cafe. Although her education and career experience is in classical music and corporate communications, she has sought out and received training in plant based cooking. In 1970 she participated in a year long study-series of Macrobiotic Cooking and Practice in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Paula also studied in Minneapolis, MN. with Macrobiotic practitioner and chef, Mary Wynne of the East-West Institute for Macrobiotics in Boston, MA. where she received her training from the Institute's founders Michio and Aveline Kushi.  Paula enjoys working with Macrobiotic concepts, keeping the focus for the winery menu on acid and alkaline balance. Wine and food pairing experiences at the winery are perfect opportunities to connect food and wine alchemy with sustainable and local organic food producers.

Georg Marti

As co-owner of Morgan Creek Vineyards and Wine Maker, Georg continues a long tratition of family pioneering ventures in fermentation. Over 150 years ago Georg's great-great grandfather, August Schell, established on of Minnesota's first vineyards on a hillside overlooking the Cottonwood River in New Ulm. The founder of the August Schell Brewing company brought vines from the Rhine Valley of Germany and planted them in the first Schell garden.  - more-
